The town and surrounding area:

Camaiore is a small town in northwest Tuscany, just half an hour's drive from the medieval city of Lucca. The chic beach resorts of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are just ten kilometers (six miles) away, and the Cinqueterre, with its fabulous views, walks and boat trips, is 45 minutes up the coast. Visit the marble quarries of Carrara, where Michelangelo obtained his pure white marble, or the charming town of Pietrasanta (10 km), frequented by sculptors. Florence (1.5 hrs) and Pisa (30 min) are within easy reach, as well as all the hilltowns of Tuscany, each with its unique character. To the east and north is the region of the Garfagnana Mountains, with rushing streams, waterfalls and ancient stone villages. Pisa airport is 25 minutes away; Florence airport is 90 km (60 mi.); and Rome airport is 410 km (250 mi.). Casa Versilia is located 1/2 mile uphill from Camaiore. It's a five minute drive to town and ten minutes to the beach.

The property:

The house (1830 sq ft) is located on private land in a peaceful location with 1 acre of olive, fig and orange trees. Although you can not see the sea, there are views over the hills and town to the harbor of Viareggio.

This beach house is especially well suited for families with children, with plenty of outdoor living space, including an attractive patio and loggia and a lovely garden with views. This is marvelous dining al fresco on the large patios. The large, kidney shaped swimming pool (41 x 16.5 ft) has a shallow end for young children and a diving board in the deep end and it is fenced. The pool house has bathroom, shower and lounge area.

Ground floor:

L-shaped living room with fireplace and dining area that opens onto the back porch (with BBQ) and also onto the well equipped kitchen.

Three bedrooms are located on the ground floor in one wing of the house, along with a modern bathroom with tub. One bedroom has a queen-sized bed, one has joinable twin beds, and one has bunk beds so it is best for children.

Second floor:

A winding staircase leads to the second floor, where there is a triple bedroom and bathroom with shower.

Amenities:

All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned. Other amenities include telephone, guest safe, window screens, satellite-TV, washer, dishwasher, WiFi and a pool house with another full bath with shower.
