It is not without reason that Spain's breathtaking Costa del Sol has earned
itself a secondary nickname: Costa del Golf. Golfers flock from around the world to take advantage of the Costa's 300 days a year of sunshine. Sotogrande is an exclusive resort at the western end of this fabled stretch of coastline, and has become one of the most prestigious golfing destinations in Europe.
Villa Lentisco is an exceptional residence directly overlooking the sixth fairway of the Sotogrande golf course. The idyllic grounds offer a variety of places to stroll or sit, and the woods that surround the house ensure a sense of privacy. Beaches, a beach club, and excellent seafood restaurants can be found less than a mile away at Marina del Sotogrande. This beautiful home has been featured in international design and garden magazines. The landscape was designed in part by noted British garden designer, Russell Page, whose designs are also seen at Leeds Castle in Kent, England, the Frick Gallery in New York, and many other locations throughout Italy, France and Spain. An expansive lawn covers one area of the grounds, while another area of oak forest has been left untouched. A beautiful pool and pool house is set amid the garden's lush greenery.
Inside, the spacious light-filled rooms are exquisitely decorated. An enormous, airy living room features a fireplace at one end and a cozy library at the other. There is an elegant dining room and a fully equipped kitchen that opens onto a delightful patio.
Villa Lentisco has seven bedrooms — five with two twin beds and two with French beds (larger than a twin; smaller than a double). Each has its own patio area and bathroom with tub and shower. Patios and terraces spill from every side of the villa.
Amenities include central heat, satellite TV, WIFI internet access, and telephone/fax.
Children are welcome, but because of the valuable antiques and artwork, the owner must be notified of the children's ages in advance, and extra care and supervision is necessary.
