Villa Artemisia is the home of a famous film maker. A wonderful collection of art and handicraft from all the world is the characteristic of this home. The restored stone farmhouse is set in a delightful area with olive trees in a century old organic farm, with beautiful gardens and provides far reaching views of the countryside. The house has been restored respecting the original structure from the year 1280. The property has 100 acres of land with olive trees and an oak forest and it is in a secluded, totally private, valley. This very old restored stone farmhouse is set in a picturesque valley halfway between Rome and Florence, with lovely gardens and extensive views over the countryside. The ambiance is peaceful and private, and the location is rural yet central, just 15 minutes from Cetona and the charming town of San Casciano dei Bagni, where you will find shops, restaurants, and one of our favorite Italian coffee bars.
Overview
Arrange for health and beauty treatments at the famous Fonteverde Spa, or visit Montepulciano, Orvieto, Todi, and Perugia. Siena is just 45 minutes away, and you can travel by train to Florence or Rome in an hour and a half. Facilities for horseback riding are located nearby. The farmhouse grows its own vegetables and produces biological extra-virgin olive oil (cold pressed). Within a hiking distance, there is also a quaint little hill village with all sorts of shops.
The house is accessed via an unpaved, downhill road of about 2.5 miles. Inside, Artemisia has an informal yet sophisticated and cozy atmosphere. The décor is unique, with many interesting collections from around the world.
All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned and have king-size beds, while two have single beds. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, two with tub and all with walk-in showers. Every bathroom has a hair dryer.
The owners live on the adjacent private property. They have lived in this area for thirty years and can enhance your stay with their knowledge and warm hospitality.
New wine cellar is available with a selection of high-level Italian wines.

Large swimming pool (23 ft x 59 ft) can be reached on foot (23 steps) or via a small road within the property. The pool was converted from an old water reservoir and is surrounded by a low brick wall, ideal for sunbathing on mats.
