When is the best time of year to rent a villa on the Amalfi Coast?

For a visit to the Amalfi Coast, we love late spring or early fall, especially in May or September to. During these months, there are fewer crowds, and the weather is more comfortable. In this part of Southern Italy, you will likely be able to swim well into October. Some of our villas come with heated or indoor pools to extend the season. It is important to keep in mind that restaurants and stores start to close toward the end of October and ferry schedules become limited into April when they pick up in frequency again. For those seeking the most action, summer on the Amalfi Coast is a most in demand time to visit. Most of the coast's big festivals and events happen during the summer, so get ready to have fun and spend lots of time enjoying the turquoise water.

Why visit Amalfi Coast, Italy?

The Amalfi Coast is one of the most desired travel destinations in the world. Here, you can rent a luxurious villa in one of the world’s most beautiful settings, perfect for a memorable vacation, a dream wedding, or a special family gathering.

Each town along the coast is like a small masterpiece, full of charm and character. These towns are close to each other, and they’re all packed with cozy cafes, unique shops, and delightful restaurants. You could easily spend hours just enjoying a glass of wine or a refreshing limoncello in one of these spots. Hop between Amalfi Coast towns on a ferry or private water taxi.

Positano is the most famous of these towns, known for its stunning scenery. The colorful buildings seem to tumble down the steep hillside right into the sea, making it a picture-perfect destination.

In Amalfi, a town with a rich history dating back to the medieval times, you can take a break at a café near the Duomo di Sant’ Andrea, a church famous for its Byzantine bronze doors and housing the remains of the apostle St. Andrew. The town is also home to many lively bars near the beach, where you can relax and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.

We highly recommend renting a villa in the town of Praiano. This charming area of the Amalfi Coast is right next to Positano with lots of restaurants and activities.

The Amalfi Coast also offers a range of upscale restaurants with sweeping views of the water. Michelin-rated restaurants dot the region and most are concentrated in the towns Amalfi and Positano. Our concierge team can help with restuarant recommendations throughout the area.

Seafood is a staple in the area and of all the seafood dishes to try, you cannot leave without sampling scialatielli ai frutti di mare, a pasta dish packed with all kinds of fish.
