Questions about tours in Pisa
How much time do I need in Pisa?
Two to three hours is enough to see the Leaning Tower, the cathedral and the Baptistery on the Field of Miracles, which is what our Introduction to Pisa tour covers. Many guests combine Pisa with Lucca, about 30 minutes away.
Do I need tickets to visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa?
You can walk up to the tower and photograph it for free. To climb it you need a timed ticket, and slots sell out in summer, so book ahead. Children under 8 are not allowed to climb.
Is climbing the Leaning Tower of Pisa worth it?
If you don't mind narrow spiral stairs, yes. The climb takes about 30 minutes in total and the view over Pisa is lovely. If stairs are a problem, the Baptistery and the cathedral are just as impressive.
Is Pisa worth visiting if we are staying near Lucca?
Yes. Pisa makes an easy half-day trip from our villas near Lucca, and Pisa airport is only about 30 minutes from them.
