The magnificent grounds surrounding the villa include a private pond with its own island and a spacious floodlit salt water swimming pool (14m x 4m – depth 1.6m). A BBQ and outdoor tables and chairs invite al fresco dining.
Located just ten minutes from the medieval walled town of Lucca, Casa Matteucci is a perfect base for exploring Chianti and the hilltowns of Tuscany. Florence is an hour away, and Pisa is just 30 minutes. Hike the dramatic cliff villages of the Cinqueterre (1 hour), explore the seaside of the Versilian Riviera (30 minutes) or relax at a nearby thermal spa. Tennis and horseback riding facilities are available in the area, and 18-hole golf courses are found in nearby Montecatini or in Versilia.
