Amalfi Coast
220 steps down to the sea — a two-storey beachfront villa above Maiori, with a roof-top jacuzzi and the Amalfi Coast at your feet.
Maiori has the longest beach on the Amalfi Coast, which means the main road runs along the cliff above it rather than carving through the village. Villa Marelda is two hundred and twenty steps below the road, on its own stretch of shoreline. The house is on two floors, the lower one opening onto the sea wall. Four bedrooms, two on each floor, all en-suite, with the upper rooms holding the view. The kitchen is the room everyone gathers in, which suits houses without much air conditioning; the breeze does most of the work here. The town of Maiori is a flat half-mile walk along the beach, where the market and the restaurants are; Ravello sits above on a higher cliff, fifteen minutes by car for an afternoon. Best for travellers who want to swim before breakfast every day, and who do not mind two hundred and twenty steps to a car.
Bedroom 1 (First Floor): Master queen bedroom with sea view, en-suite bathroom with shower
Bedroom 2 (First Floor): Queen bedroom (160×200 cm), en-suite bathroom with shower
Bedroom 3 (First Floor): Queen bedroom, en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi tub (extra single bed available on request)
Bedroom 4 (First Floor): Twin/queen bedroom, en-suite bathroom with shower (extra single bed available on request)
The bright, highly designed interiors reflect the Mediterranean vibe reinterpreted in a modern key. A simple, very elegant open space holding the dining, cooking, and living areas opens onto wide sea views that recharge the spirit. Light blue, stark white, and warm golden wood evoke the sand, the sun, and the water — you feel on vacation the moment you walk in.
A manicured garden and furnished terraces set the stage for meals alfresco, prepared in the outdoor BBQ and kitchen area. On the roof, a furnished solarium and a spacious jacuzzi to tan, relax, and watch the coast. Two outdoor showers. A small sandy-beach establishment is forty steps below the villa (open June to September) — rent a sun umbrella and mingle with the locals.
