About This Villa

The Coselli Estate sits on Via di Coselli in Capannori, just outside the walled city of Lucca. Six separate villas spread across one historic Tuscan estate — six entirely independent residences with their own gates, gardens, kitchens and staff, but on the same grounds. Sleeps 101 across 51 bedrooms when the whole estate is rented as one.

Each villa stands alone and books on its own — the estate's clever architecture means a four-bedroom couple's escape (Villa Frantoio), a 24-guest twelve-bedroom family reunion (Borgo Bernardini or Villa Controni), or every villa rented together for a wedding party of one hundred all work within the same estate. All within a ten-minute drive of Lucca's medieval walls.

The six villas of the estate

Resident staff at each villa: a housekeeper at minimum, with chef and butler service available on request. The estate-wide concierge handles cooking classes at the family kitchen, winery tours on the nearby Lucchesia hills, and ferries to Forte dei Marmi on the Versilian coast.

The Coselli Estate is a historic Tuscan estate just outside the walled city of Lucca, on Via di Coselli in Capannori. Six separate villas spread across the property — each with its own gate, garden, kitchen and staff — but on the same grounds.

Together, the estate sleeps 101 across 51 bedrooms. The villas range from a four-bedroom couple's retreat in the converted olive press (Villa Frantoio) to twelve-bedroom grand residences for 24-guest family reunions (Borgo Bernardini, the converted medieval hamlet; Villa Controni, the grand 18th-century villa with its private chapel). Two further villas at eight bedrooms each (Casa Del Fattore and Villa Lenka — the 1624 country residence of Count Cosimo Bernardini) and a seven-bedroom 19th-century villa (Casa Felice Matteucci, named for the engineer who co-invented the internal combustion engine) fill out the rest.

Each villa books on its own. The whole estate can also be rented together for weddings and large family gatherings, with the flexibility of separate entrances, private gardens and individual staff at each villa — a hundred-guest celebration where everyone still has their own bedroom in a freshly restored Tuscan villa.

Resident staff at each villa: a housekeeper at minimum, with chef and butler service available on request. The estate-wide concierge organises wine tastings at the family cellar, cooking classes in the family kitchen, winery tours in the Lucchesia hills, day trips to Forte dei Marmi on the Versilian coast, and Lucca-walls bicycle rides at sunrise.

Lucca is a ten-minute drive away — the medieval walled city, its bicycle-able ramparts, the Puccini house, the Friday-morning market, the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro for dinner. Florence, Pisa, the Cinque Terre and the Versilian coast are all within an hour.
