La Poggiolaia is a hilltop farmstead in Certaldo, in the heart of Tuscany's so-called golden triangle between Florence, Siena and Pisa, with views across olive groves toward the towers of San Gimignano. Owner Paola has personally restored every apartment — marble, tiles, light fixtures, antique family furniture — and the result is a relaxed, atmospheric, lived-in place that feels nothing like a hotel.
All five apartments share the same Mediterranean-style swimming pool with Roman steps, set in the garden at the centre of the property. Each apartment has its own private entrance and outdoor terraces. The hilltop position catches the cross-breeze; the interiors carry Tuscan-coloured walls, terracotta floors, and Baroque mirrors that the family has had for generations.
Nandina is a two-storey apartment that sleeps four across two double bedrooms — one a standard double, one a four-poster. The ground floor has a living room with a small kitchenette and a double bedroom that can be converted to twins; the upper floor has the four-poster bedroom and its own bathroom. Two outdoor areas flank the apartment, including a spacious private north-facing terrace, with the shared pool a short walk away.

One double bedroom (convertible to twin beds; extra bed available on request) with en-suite shower bathroom. Exit to two outdoor areas — a smaller south-facing terrace and a more spacious north-facing one.

One double bedroom with a four-poster bed (cannot be converted to twins). Bathroom with shower.
Outdoors
Two terraces adjacent to the apartment. Private garden. Path through the flower garden to the shared Mediterranean-style swimming pool with Roman steps, 6 × 14 m.
