About This Villa

Experience Rome in this beautifully appointed apartment, a few steps from the Tiber River and within walking distance of the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps and Castel Sant'Angelo. La Romantica is a large 2,690-square-foot apartment on the second floor of an elegant building with elevator — set back from the street, screened by a large tree, with only four apartments in the whole building.

Bedroom 1 (Master): King bedroom with balcony access and en-suite considerations; A/C

Bedroom 2 (Master): King bedroom with balcony access; A/C

Bedroom 3: Split kings (convertible from singles); A/C

Bedroom 4: Split kings (convertible from singles); A/C

Bedroom 5: Single bedroom (no A/C)

Beautiful floors, large windows, fine art, high ceilings, and elegant furniture set the tone the moment you walk in. The living room is arranged in two areas: a parlor-like entry with chairs, a table and a tall bureau that hides the television; and a second area with two facing sofas and antique side-pieces. Two large windows look out over a neighbouring garden. Air-conditioned throughout.

The dining room features a hand-blown Murano glass chandelier and a golden Chinese panel above a table that seats eight comfortably. A large modern fully-equipped kitchen sits directly across the hall — gas stove, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, Moka coffee maker, washer and dryer.

A separate study with a sofa bed, Wi-Fi router and an entertainment centre with television provides a quieter corner for working or reading.

Five bedrooms — two masters with balcony access and king-size beds, two more bedrooms with split kings, and a fifth with a single bed. A flat-panel TV in every bedroom; air conditioning in all but the single bedroom. Three bathrooms: the largest has a shower over a bathtub, the second a large step-in shower, the third a comfortable shower. Heated towel racks and hairdryers in every bathroom.

A morning with a Roman food guide — the bakery for cornetti, the market in Piazza San Cosimato, supplì at Trapizzino, lunch at Da Enzo.

Rome

A private Colosseum + Forum visit at opening

Through the Gladiator's Gate before the gates open, a guide who works in the archaeology. Most cinematic at first light.

Hard-to-get bookings: the Borghese with a Bernini specialist, or the Vatican Library's reading rooms with a manuscript curator.
