Casa Meridiana is a graceful lakefront villa on the upper reach of Lake Como, with classic architecture and a calm, lived-in feel. The ground floor opens onto an expansive panoramic terrace through eight French doors — a formal dining room that seats fourteen with lake views, a corner living room with plush sofas, a fully equipped commercial-grade kitchen, and a games room with table tennis for children of all ages. Two guest bathrooms complete the floor (one accessible).
The six en-suite bedrooms are on the first floor, all with air conditioning. Two of them open onto a balcony with lake view. For larger groups, two of the queen bedrooms each adjoin an additional single room — kid-suitable add-ons that bring the total sleeping capacity to twelve.
Outdoors, the heated swimming pool (4.5 × 7.5 m) sits under a sliding glass roof — swim at any hour, in any weather. A spacious paved area is laid for al fresco dining, sunbeds spread across the lawn, and the lake is at the foot of the property.
Casa Meridiana sits right on the lake. A gravel public beach is twenty metres from the gate, and a public pedestrian path runs along the shore between the lake and the villa — walk for several kilometres in either direction. A small harbour is close by, and the villa has its own mooring buoy for guests bringing a boat.
The village of Pianello del Lario is a five-minute walk: pizzeria, bank, post office, a few shops. Menaggio — with the ferry across to Bellagio and Varenna — is a fifteen-minute drive. Villa Carlotta's botanic gardens in Tremezzo are twenty-five minutes south. Boating, sailing, windsurfing, hiking, golfing, tennis, mountain biking and horseback riding are all available in the surrounding area.

Lake Como
A morning on a 1960s mahogany Riva or a modern Cantiere replica. Coffee on the Tremezzo lakefront, a stop at Villa del Balbianello, lunch at La Punta in Bellagio, swim stops between.
Lake Como
The most cinematic of the lake's villas, reachable only by water. The gardens, the loggia, the rooms exactly as they were when the last owner left them.
Lake Como
Mistral at Villa d'Este on the water for the Michelin night out. Il Gatto Nero in Cernobbio above the lake (long the favourite of George Clooney and most of his neighbours) for the more local one.
Lake Como
Botanical gardens that have been the standard for two hundred years. Azaleas in May, lemons in June, oleanders in July.
Lake Como
Como has been Europe's silk capital since the 1500s. A morning workshop at a family silk house — printing, weaving, or scarves — at one of the producers our concierge knows.
Lake Como
