Villa Belcortese fills the first floor of a 15th-century Florentine palazzo a few minutes from Piazza Santa Croce, its sgraffito façade one of the loveliest on the street. Inside, restorers brought the painted ceilings back to life and a designer paired them with clean, contemporary furniture, so the rooms feel both historic and light.
Four queen bedrooms, each with its own shower room, sleep eight. There are two living rooms — one formal, one for TV and lounging — and a large eat-in kitchen that is the heart of the apartment. Downstairs, a quiet inner courtyard with a vertical garden is yours for morning coffee or an evening drink.

Villa Belcortese is in the Santa Croce quarter, a three-minute walk from the basilica and its piazza. The Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio and the Duomo are all within easy walking distance, with the neighbourhood's leather workshops and trattorias on the doorstep.
